Background & Mission
Established in 2003, First Tee – Greater Charlotte is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people through the game of golf. Serving youth ages 5-18 from all walks of life, our programs are designed to build character, instill-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices.
We engage more than 2,000 participants annually at eight on-course facilities throughout the Greater Charlotte area. In addition, our School Program brings golf and character education into the PE curriculum of over 200 local elementary schools, reaching more than 120,000 students during the school day.
Our Community Program extends these values further by equipping and training youth leaders at local organizations to deliver our curriculum within their own programming.
Key facilities include:
- The Learning Center at Revolution Park, opened in April 2009 and renovated in 2016
- The Learning Center at Pineville, opened in April 2021
Both centers operate in partnership with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.
