Launched in December 2021, the HV3 and First Tee – Greater Charlotte Mentorship Program connects young participants with caring mentors who guide, inspire, and support them in achieving their personal and professional goals. Each month, we host fun, engaging events for mentors and mentees to enjoy together, alongside other mentor-mentee pairs. Past events include: golf scrambles, Whitewater Center activities, college campus tours, and sporting events.
For Mentees:
Eligibility Requirements: To apply, youth participants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Been a participant with First Tee – Greater Charlotte for at least one year
- Registered in the participant database as 12 in the Life Skills Experience
- Active and current in First Tee – Greater Charlotte programming
- Able to commit a minimum of 2 hours a month

Eligibility Requirements: To become a mentor, applicants must:
- Be at least 23 years old
- Commit to a minimum of 2 hours per month
- Be able to commit to the program for at least one year
- Complete and pass a background check

- How do I sign up to become involved? To get started, please contact Caroline England at [email protected]. She will provide you with the application and next steps.
- Are the monthly events mandatory? No, attendance at monthly events is not mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged. These events are a great way for mentors and mentees to connect in a group setting and build relationships within the program.
- What is the cost of joining the program? There is no fee to join the mentorship program. Most monthly events are fully covered, any exceptions will be clearly communicated by Caroline in advance.
- Do I need golf experience to become a mentor? No golf experience is required! While a few events include golf outings, the program welcomes all backgrounds. Everyone is here to grow and learn together.
